To your left you will see Maegan Lynn Dunlap, born on February 27 1993 and passed away on February 5, 2005. Everyone likes a great story: they all have a beginning and an end. Some are good and some are great but in the end, you—the reader—will make that choice.
Maegan’s story began when her mother gave birth to Maegan, all the while fighting cancer. Maegan never knew her mother, having lost her when Maegan was 8½ months old. Maegan, too, was to suffer a similar fate, being diagnosed with cancer at the age of nine—the sixth generation on the maternal side to be told that they have cancer. At this point, Maegan’s story takes many unique twists. Never one to pity herself or want it, Maegan instead chose to share her smile and the warmth of her inner light to everyone she came across. Her eyes were the brightest you’d ever seen.
The story of Maegan was coming to a close, she was losing the battle. Yet, one’s story does not necessarily end once they are no longer here to tell it—the stories live on within all who are touched by it. Through these stories, one is never forgotten and never really gone, only missed—their love and their light touching and forever inspiring those that they have met. This is the message within Maegan’s story, as seen through her eyes: give what you can to whoever needs it. It is Through Maegan’s Eyes that her story continues, one which we warmly invite you to participate in.
Please join me as we take you on the wonderful journey of Maegan's life. Throughout these pages, we will show you what we are attempting to accomplish in her memory by giving to those specific individuals who need the help most during what might be the most difficult time of all. Again, welcome to Maegan's Eyes’ site and your comments are always welcome! |
